Midtown Historical Home Remodel
Historic homes hit a sweet spot with LAR, this one especially so. LAR purchased this historic home in an effort to bring it back to life as no life had been in this home for many years.
There was an unstable set of stairs leading to the 2nd story which wasn’t structurally sound.
Windows were lying in the floor and the water damage significant. LAR created two bedrooms, a shared bathroom and small, unique sitting area on the second story.
The first floor had also been greatly neglected. There were two bedrooms and a small bathroom. You had to go through one bedroom to get to the second bedroom.
A few simple wall modifications made the master en-suite with a walk-in, spacious closet and a stunning bathroom a beautiful space. There was even room on the ground floor to create a small half bath.
LAR gutted the kitchen, installing new and custom cabinets with quartz counters utilizing the original hardwood floors.
The living room ceiling design is not only unique, but structural using LVLs to create a stable upstairs and a stunning ceiling.
The floating staircase was custom designed providing a focal point on one end of the living area.
The driveway was poured in a ribbon style, similar to what would have been used when the home was originally built. After the sale of the home, the new owner contracted with LAR to build an over-sized two car garage completing the overhaul of this historic home.
